Layer Zero Integration has committed to an annual donation to two dementia organizations and two ALS organizations. This page will always show exactly what was given, and when.
Why this
Layer Zero Integration is named for the layer underneath. The groundwork. The part of a business nobody sees when it is working, and everybody feels when it is not.
For a family living with dementia or with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), someone is doing that work every day. Care partners. Adult children and spouses. The people answering helplines late at night. Researchers working on questions that will outlast their own careers. It is constant, it is mostly unpaid, and it is invisible when it is done well. Invisible is not the same as small.
So each year we fund a little of it, and we point at the people doing it. That is the whole idea.
Where the money goes
Four organizations — two working on dementia, two working on ALS. On each side we chose a pair on purpose: one organization working across research, care and support at national scale, and one specialist. Every donation goes directly to the organization. Layer Zero Integration does not collect money on anyone's behalf, does not take a share of anything, and does not run a donation button on this site.
Research, care and support for people living with Alzheimer's and all other dementia, and for their families — including a 24/7 helpline.

Funds scientific research on Alzheimer's disease worldwide. Our gift is designated to BrightFocus Foundation's Alzheimer's Disease Research program.

Committed means decided and published. Given means the money has left the account and we hold the receipt. We do not use the two words interchangeably, and no donation is listed as given until it has been.

Where to find reliable information
Everything above links to the organizations' own websites. We are not a medical source and we do not publish medical information. If you are looking for answers about dementia or about ALS, start with the organizations — not with us. The Alzheimer's Association helpline is staffed around the clock, and The ALS Association and Team Gleason both maintain resources for people who are newly diagnosed and for their families.

How we do this
We give once a year, on a standing annual commitment, from company funds.
We publish the amount and the date of every gift. We do not publish claims about what the money achieved, because we do not know.
We do not fundraise, we do not collect donations on anyone's behalf, and we do not tie giving to a sale or a client engagement.
We link to the organizations' own resources rather than writing our own. They are the experts. We are not.
If we miss a year, this page will say so.
